Caught the Motor Flower guys before they left to the Wiskey a Go Go. It was wonderful to see such a solid crowd show on such short notice.
Been working my new camera to the limits on low light photography. Here are a few captures from Monday night.

For those of us lucky enough to have watched John Nemeth grow from the “fat” yet powerful teenager with a jones for the blues to the now international blues star. It has been a great time so far.
Seeing and spending a few moments with John at the “pignic”(thanks Corner Clubers) reminded us of nights going back to the Waterfront. John tells Boisee.com that one of his very 1st paying gigs was at a early BBS Picnic, and he loved the old jam sessions at the IOF hall. John has always worked hard to play well. It shows in his singing, but shines in his vocals. His success is hard earned and is an inspiration. Here a couple of pics.

From Craigslist!
Active Liquor License for sale. Available November 1, 2008. Price not negotiable. Serious buyers only.
Wonder who is losing their License? I also wonder why the price is so high. Been a bunch of seasoned licenses at $150,000 of late.
Hope this isn’t the Bouquets, but it would explain the closed doors. Could be a while before the new owner finds and transfers a license.

A very reliable source tells Boisee.com. that the Wine co. has closed.
I’ll see if I can dig up more details.
BTW the Bouquet now has it’s windows covered.

Rich O’Hara tells us. . .
You don’t want to miss this group:
They’ll be at Pengilly’s tonight,(Wednesday) taking up part of Jeremiah Jame’s set.

Remember those nights at the Bouquet, the floor bouncing, drinks flowing, and dancing, hot sweaty dancing?
Now move forward say-15 years, maybe 20. That’s what went on at the VAC Monday night. Heard Saturday was even crazier. Us old folks can still shake, if the music is good enough. Aging Hipsters hanging on to cool!

Check this line up! Sandow, Curtis, Craig, and Lafenberger!
Also in the mix, JD Biseline, and Steve Fulton. All Stars indeed.
Gotta thanks Steve Fulton for help with the tixs.

Hello everyone!
Well for those of you who couldn’t make it to the Hi-Tops reunion this Saturday August 9th we have added another night.
Monday August 11th!
I know, it’s Monday but this is a very rare event.
We are adding a date because we are nearly sold out for the Saturday date and we had such a huge response of people that couldn’t make it that night.
We got Craig Sofaly to hang around for another day and this also allows us to have Curtis Stigers come sit in with us! He is a former Hi-Tops after all!
RADIO - Also, 94.9 the River is spinning some hi-Tops songs till the show. I am not sure if it is just during the morning (6-10a.m.) or more but Tim Johnstone was so kind to add us in.
You can listen at www.riverinteractive.com
NEWSPAPER - There is a story in the Life Section of the Idaho Statesman on Thursday.
I hear there will be an MP3 of a Hi-Tops song you can check out.
TV - KTVB Channel 7 is doing a then and now story on the 10pm news either Thursday or Friday (likely Thursday) You will also be able to see it on KTVB.com
Looking forward to 2 GREAT shows this weekend!
Both our CD’s and some bonus songs/stuff will be available.
FUN!
Steve Fulton

This from the B!utiful Lori B!. . .
Well, here we go again!!! As you know Lori B! started singing with The Core after The Boys. Well, there has been another change. Music/musicians. It is a rough biz. ha ha ha ha ha ha So, with some additional changes, it looks like we have finally gotten to a final (cross your fingers) resting place. The new name is:
Lori B! & The Blue Diamonds On Guitar: Richard Soliz; Bass: Chip Ruberry; Sax: Kent Persons (Da Groove; Soul Purpose) and Drums: Faithful Bob Peters.
This Friday, (August 1st) the new band will be playing at “Friday Night Express.” It is a FREE CONCERT SERIES put on by the City of Caldwell at the Caldwell Train Depot. We will be playing from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Leave Boise early, brave the traffic, come have some fun with the band!! 701 Main St. in Caldwell. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!

Sorry all! Paul was apparently wrong on this. Fun while it lasted.
….because he’s been picked up by Dishwalla who was recently Re-Signed and was short a guitarist. Although not mentioned on the website, I was assured by another local musician Wayne is leaving his house gig of over 12 years to play on the road.
Wayne is an AMAZING guitarist, and anyone who has heard the RJB do ‘Shine on you crazy Diamond’ at Hanna’s (without Rocci) won’t surprised he was snagged by Dishwalla. Nor will anyone who has known Wayne and followed his career.
By the way, Dishwalla’s bass player has been Bill Liles replacement at Hanna’s since he left the RJB. Obviously he’s leaving her band too…..
You heard it here first.

Thanks Paul, this is great news. No one deserves a brighter spotlight than Wayne. Coyle is a long time friend, hell he used to work at Wizzards. If anyone has an email for Wayne send it my way via boisee(at)gmail.com.

Graveyard Frame
Quartertons

Nathan Jay Moody has a charm that lights up a stage.
It would be easy to worry that Graveyard Frame from NJM’s Quartertons wouldn’t be able to capture the swagger and delight that flows from the stage as they play around town.
No problem here!
Not that the studio setting doesn’t lend an additional complexity to the lead guitar mastery of Nathan Jay or the that the intensity of the lyrics and vocals isn’t more polished and powerful. It just that you can almost still feel the smokey bar, and the click of glasses somewhere in the background.
Graveyard is an easy listen. It grips you and keeps you listening. Nathan uses his guitars fret broad like gymnast Mary Lou Retton used those bar things. Swinging back and forth, then nailing the dismount. Good thing the solid and stoic Cory is around to keep things from spinning out of control or someone might get hurt!
Will admit I like the Quartertons best when they slow down and play blues. SRV fans will enjoy Blood Red Texas Moon, Crying in the Rain. Looking for a rocker, how about, Lovin’ Gun. My favorite has to be Little Piece o’ Lightin’. It is truly from the streets of Memphis. You shoulda’ been there. Black in Blue is a very close 2nd
Also a quick word about the production of this CD. The graphics, photos, recording and the whole package are first rate. Kudos to all involved.

Hi there - !
If you were looking for something to write about, you could post something about the Goddess Festival that is happening this weekend at Julia Davis. No, this is not something I would normally have known about or gone to, but my son is coming in from Denver to watch his girlfriend perform. They also have a web site that was informative….. and here is a write up I saw on the web.
GoddessFest - All are welcome at this annual event where diversity and the love of spirit can be shared and celebrated in an open environment. Enjoy food, music and entertainment at Goddess Fest which promotes the care of Mother Earth and nurtures an atmosphere of acceptance, growth, and sharing beyond this three day event. The community at large can participate in workshops, dance, song and exercises in creativity. Fri., July 25, 5-10 p.m., Sat., July 26, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sun., July 27, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. FREE.

After a month or so of fast and furious news and events, it has become very boring in the world of Boisee.com. Even went dumpster diving at the Riders/Connector. Nothing but sheetrock. Looks like the owners are opening it up to be an office.
Got anything?, let me know.

Like the Charle Daniels song.
Heard the Bouquet will change hands as of the 1st.
Music is in flux!
Just a rumor, but it’s true none the less.

As pointed out by Don O, this filling only refers to the bottling side. For now the pub is thankfully safe. Here is the original story.

Boisee talked to restauranteur extrodianre Gino yesterday. Gino confirmed the wide spread rumors of his move to Meridian. The deal was just to good to pass up, he told us.
There are a couple of good points here. He will be keeping the Grille side open. Also the Balcony will be expanding into his old space. At least one bar is doing well enough to expand. Hope this is the new trend.
