Hi All, been hearing a lot lately that there is no Blues around. The main reason is that NO ONE SHOWS UP at blues shows. If I don’t see you at this show I will ignore all further complaints!!!
Three Blues ActS.
Hard Core straight Blues from Neighbor Dave Green
More traditonal Blues from Lori B!
And of course the powerful eletrified trio that is this years BBS entry to the Internatioanl Blue Contest in Memphis-The Quartertons.
The musicains will show up-will the rest of you?
Oh, and don’t try the normal lame excuses either:
This one is No smoking
This one is Family Freindly!
This one is not late at night!
Here is the info From
Hey everyone,
For those of you who know and those of you who don’t, The QUARTERTONS
were selected this year by the Boise Blues Society
(www.boiseblues.org) to represent Boise and all of Idaho at the
International Blues Competition. (www.blues.org/ibc) This is the
biggest blues competition in the world and it is held each year in
Memphis TN. We will be leaving Feb 3rd to represent all of you!!
It cost a bit of $ to get a band down to Memphis so we along with the
BBS are holding a Fundraiser and asking for your support by way of
coming out to an awesome Sunday event.
This Sunday Jan 18th 12:00 - 4:00 P.M. we will be putting this event
on at the Bulls Head Bistro on Eagle and Fairview. Southwest corner
between Red Robin and Wendy’s. It is an ALL AGES Event and everyone
is welcome.
Live music performances by Boise’s own:
Neighbor Dave
Lori B! and the Blue Diamonds
& The QUARTERTONS
along with many special guests.
We will be holding a silent auction and some great raffle prizes. Plus
there will be a great menu for lunch at the Bulls Head and a full bar with
I.D.
$10.00 per adult $5.00 per child. (special discounts for large
families)
If you would like to donate something to be auctioned, please let me
know and bring it with you. Also if you cant make it to the
Fundraiser but would still like to donate, you can do so two ways:
go to boiseblues.org and find the link or
go to paypal.com and send $ to nathanjay@fiberpipe.net
Please pass this email along to any of your friends that may want to come
and as always thanks for the support!! Email me back with any questions.

The brick building on the right is the current public library.

January 1st, 2009 at 12:47 pm eThat is the library on the right. This is 8th looking toward 8th street market place. It where the turnaround is and the Anne Frank Memorial. I park here all the time.
January 1st, 2009 at 4:57 pm eYou’re correct. On the right, that’s the building that became part of the new Boise public library. Go to the Anne Frank monument and compare this to today’s view.
January 4th, 2009 at 3:55 pm eEveryone is right, of course. The Library gives it away. Additional details:
- The two structures opposite 8th Street from the library (U.S. Plywood and the little free-standing house) are still there, but will not survive the eventual Library Blocks redevelopment.
- The tallish broad structure a few blocks in the distance is the old Eastman Building, way before its abandonment and arson.
- Sticking up behind it, the slender top of the Hoff.
