Yes you read that right! The Original Hi-Tops that left Boise in 1988 for San Diego and played their last gig in Boise in 1990 is performing on AUGUST 9th at Visual Arts Collective.
I kind of hand picked this list of you that I am pretty sure were there in those days or had an interest in this.
There of course is a ton of others that are not on this list. Could you pass this on to anyone that you know that would want to know about this historic performance? Send their email to me and I will put them on the list.Craig Sofaly, former lead guitarist for Hi-Tops moved to France with his Wife Sophie 18 years ago and has only been back once. They have 2 lovely daughters that wanted to see where their parents met because it is their 20 year anniversary.
This got me and Craig talking and decided to put together a show to help pay for the extra expenses. This has turned into a Hi-tops reunion. So far everyone but Dave Browne our Drummert (we will greatly miss him) are able to make it so it should be amazing and a ton of fun! Our Great friend Tim Willis will fill in on Drums. He was always their so it will be great to have him!All of our recordings will be available at the show!
Tickets are on sale on the 7th at www.ticketleap.com <http://www.ticketleap.com> <http://www.ticketleap.com>
I will keep you posted on updates and developments!Talk soon

Same day as Blues in the Park….what time is the Hi-Tops show?

I will be there! I missed very few Hi-Tops shows back in “the day”.
I’ve always said I have no interest in a high school reunion, but would give almost anything for a Hi-Tops reunion.
No matter what kind of foul mood I was in, no matter how bad my job sucked, how much my girlfriend had pissed me off, no matter what, going to see the Hi-Tops would instantly turn my mood around.
I loved the Bouquet in those days, filled with demented dancing fools, dancing to the point where we began to really worry about the floor giving way!

Michael, interesting you mentioned the floor. I was trying to think of a way to fit it into the story. I was sure it was going to go some nights. One of the 1st things the Hoochie-Blues Bouquet guys did was put a huge post in the basement to support the middle of the dance floor.

I wonder how many of us old, gray Hi-Tops fans are left? Strange that it doesn’t seem that long ago, but I am indeed gray, and indisputably old, at least chronologically.
I almost posted an event in Boise Weekly to drum up a little more publicity, but then decided that it wasn’t my place to do so - but I don’t want this to slip by anyone who would be devastated by missing it. I missed their last show because I was out of town - and I’m still pissed about it.
