Couldn’t sleep on the red eye back from Hawaii last night/this morning. So I read. Came across a quote from a Daniel Handler short story Delmonico, that sums up my feeling about scotch drinkers.
“what kind is there?†the tall one said.
“There’s cheap, there’s good and then there’s pretentiousâ€
“I usually drink Walker Blackâ€, he said.
“Pretentious it is,†she said and his friend smiled.

I remember from your Blues Bouquet bartending stint when, following discussion about the benefits of smoked-malt based beverages, you provided me a blind test between Johnny Walker Red and Johnny Walker Black. The taste that I enjoyed more was the Red;
I was surprised when you noted it was the less expensive of
the two.
(I just looked at the ISLD price list and discovered
there is now also a JW Green and a JW Gold.
