Oops! Google accidentally deletes its blog
March 28, 2006 12:19 PM PST
Google has admitted that it accidentally deleted its own official blog on Monday night. “We’ve determined the cause of tonight’s outage. The blog was mistakenly deleted by us (d’oh!) which allowed the blog address to be temporarily claimed by another user. This was not a hack, and nobody guessed our password. Our bad,” Jason Goldman, Blogger Product Manager, wrote in a posting on the Google Blog. Apparently, the Google Blog was unavailable for a short time on Monday.

Buy the Galloon

March 28th, 2006

Why I Bought a Honda Civic-1.JPGThis photo from friend Don O. in Kona made my think.
Which is cheaper by the galloon? Gas or water. Water right?

No! At $1.00 a pint, water is $8.00 a galloon. Gas is cheap at 1/2 the price, even if you buy it in Kona, Hawaii.
Thanks for the pic Kona boi.

Who let the Poodles Out

March 28th, 2006

Is it just me? Why are people bringing their dogs into stores? Even restaurants. Don’t mind running with the big dogs, but I don’t want to eat or drink with ‘em.
As long as I am ranting, what is up with Poodles? Bet they look in the mirror and hate their owners for the hair do.

Blog Switch-update

Well, I’m getting closer. Think I have the time right. Still no spell check and some of the colors are wrong! However, I’m getting photos to work and you all can post comments with any hoop jumping.
Soon I’ll photoshop up a fancy-smanczy header and be done with it. Whewww.

Dragon Wagon

March 27th, 2006

magum-fast-web.jpgDon’t think even one person reading this blog will remember the first dragon wagon.

Dodge calls my new ride a Magnum, but at it’s heart it is more Conastoga than Hemi.
Anyone need an 8 foot by 6 foot Framed photo? I’ll deliver!magnum-leavin-web.jpg

Post No(some) Bills

March 27th, 2006

Or maybe do as I say, not as I do! A citizen can’t place an advertisement for a yard sale or a band gig on a light pole. The City of Boise however can advertise a cheesy low income housing developement. Call a cop, oh!postnobills-web.jpgpostnobills.jpg

Jon Knox

March 27th, 2006

It is often said the one person can not make much of a difference. Whowever said that has not met BBS member Jon Knox. His gentle but presistent nudging has created a hugely successful Blues Jam at the Reef. Every other week he blends egos and instrurments into beautiful music. Boise and the Blues Society are lucky to have Jon round.

Thanks Jonbbs-drum-web.jpg
By the way Jon put in his own money to help the BBS Jam aquire a preminent drum kit. This fantasic looking set is a dream come true.

The Eagle has Landed

March 24th, 2006

With help from the son, looks like I may have solved the photo problem. Still have some alignment issues, but at least in my computer you can see the picture. Let me know if you cannot see this beautiful bird. Thanks for the comments and encouragement.

To be able to find the American Bald Eagle within Boise is just a miracle to me.

Blog switch update

March 22nd, 2006

A few things I’m working on to get this site working better:
As of now it is making me “approve” all comments, sorry. I will check them often and approve them all until I can figure it out.

Also their is NO spell check, as if my need for editing wasn’t bed enough!!!

The sizing of the photos is weird too.

Look for steady improvements and my usual random thoughts.

Not Downtown-Bar Watch

March 22nd, 2006

A little off my beaten path!

The old Black Angus in the Spectrum Center has closed. May mean a liquor license is available.

Been Replaced?

March 21st, 2006

From a site called Engadet:

We’ve seen plenty of automated methods of drink creation and acquisition, but we like to keep an open mind about such things, and this edition by Michael Murphy seems a notable entrant into the category. The Automated Bar is outfitted with 13 pumps that each control their assigned ingredient and together can make around 150 preprogrammed drinks, along with all sorts of customized creations. The whole thing is powered by an old Compaq PIII box running XP and controlled with a single numeric keypad.

Whew, it is a windows based machine! Was nervious for a minute.
