Downtowns a Buzz
If this was a real news site, you would have to call this BREAKING NEWS. Insiders are telling us that the old Funny Bone is going to be remodeled into a good old fun time bar. Think the Bouquet back when it had Blues, or Pengillys back when it had smoke.
If you drink in any of the places you read about in Boisee.com you will find familiar faces behind the bar. We are also told that the room will feature live music and local art! All I need is $4.00 Red Label’s and I’m there.
More soon.
I read about places on boisee.com but I rarely read anything positive written about bars. Dave whats your story did you once own the Blues Bouquet? For those of us newer to the scene downtown I’d like to know. You seem disinfranchised with the current downtown scene what gives? I wonder why this place already has the seal of approval before it opens, strange. I’m glad to have another choice to drink but Bodo parking sucks.

More bars within short walking distance of the office = productivity revolution.

great to hear that there is going to be something good heading in there, but where with all the people who just have to get a good laugh going to go?/

Gotta go with Tbone. Why the sudden positivity about a new bar?

I will be posting more on this location soon, but I should respond to tbone and aman. No I didn’t own the Bouquet, I did work there a long time.
The answer is simple. LIVE music! No DJ, big screen TV or sound system will ever be a good for me as live music. Does that make me elitist? no, outta touch and nostalgic maybe. So, yes I miss the Blues, I already miss the jazz at the Milky and the vibe is way mellower without the smokers at Gillys. Sorry if that comes off as negative, just the opinion of along time patron/worker of downtown bars who supports live & local tunes.

I am with you, David…..a bar with live music and smoke is going to be great! Nostalgic? You bet! Sounds to me like it is going to be a great place to go and a welcome addition to the downtown scene.
