Gustos-Or does Jazz go with Mac and Charlie’s?
The bar next to Mac & Charlie’s is going to move toward Jazz. Changing their targeting statement to “Gusto’s A Boise Jazz Venue.”
Seems an odd fit for the sister bar of M&C’s but you gotta love anyone downtown doing LIVE music.
509 Main, Boise, ID. 83702
BTW when I walked by after the Mike Zito show last night at maybe 12:30. They bar was blasting a very heavy hip hop beat. No jazz!!
Gusto Bar is still primarily a live DJ venue with dancefloor. However, on Wednesday nights from 7pm-close live Jazz is performed by the New Quintet featuring Chuck Smith-piano, Rob Walker-trumpet, Sandon Mayhew-sax, Rod Ray-bass, Scott Reusser-drums, and rotating in from time to time Bill Courtial on the guitar.
Last night was opening night and went very well. The band was terrific, and the smoke free atmosphere was pleasant to say the least. Next Wednesday the New Quintet will be playing at the same time 7pm-10pm. Followed by DJ Travis Powell who will be spinning Jazz records till close. Hope to see you there!

Wow, a jazz club in Boise? Finally, every other city has jazz clubs galore. Is the Band affiliated with The New Trio? Hope so.
