I feel ya on the ho club...My girlfriend is being a ho just to promote this guy's new club for free. The owner of The Grizzly Rose is supposedly married and puts his hands on her like she's a trophy. And now she's going to be walking the streets of downtown boise luring people to his club. So, now my soon to be ex-girlfriend is basically turning tricks for her new pimp, owner of Grizzly Rose. Screw everyone involved!

Why on earth do we need another Ho club? borderline stip club, it's such a sad thing that a guy and a girl can't even get out anymore and the girl your with....actually be the star attraction for her man these days! Why do we women even bother dressing up for a date anymore?? the bars feel they have to provide little slutty girls for the guys, so stupid!!

No Longer in BOI maybe you should check the joint out before you bash it. I’ve been in several times and enjoyed my overall experience. I see it as a breath of fresh air for the stagnant downtown scene. I think Hannah's must be doing something right since they are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year... All the power to Sam for getting out of the loft and for Zuz being promoted from janitor, they must be doing something right if they were selected to anchor this new establishment. We should embrace a venue that has the potential to bring much needed national acts into Boise!

What a joke. Another attempt to lure fans of country music to another venue that will just become another Hannah's. But instead of Rocky's tired self on the stage, they will probably have country bands rotating through. Look at their music selection. Check out their myspace page... top 40, hip hop, reggeaton, rock, country, dance... all mixed together. I have a headache just thinking about it. DJ sam-I-am from the Loft and the former janitor at China Blue (DJ Zuz) are the DJ's? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I can just imagine a premade mash-up of Walk the Line mixed with Run DMC's Walk This Way (available on crooklynclan.net) played every weekend until this club gets as tired as all the others. I'm so glad I'm out of that hokey downtown scene.

Good luck though. LOL

Dirty Little Roddy's = hip country/rock bar? That's a joke, right? Has a live band ever even played there? Do they even have a stage, let alone a patron who knows how to spell "Wilco"? Peanut shells + drunk bimbos serving Bud light in flannel shirts does not qualify as a country rock bar.

Downtown Boise does have a "hip" country/rock bar - Dirty Little Roddie's. It'll be interesting to see if this new entry can lure people to its "out of the core" location.

I am so excited! I have also been to the 'real' Grizzley Rose in Denver, but heres to Boise! We need something country downtown that doesnt involve club owners trying to just appeal to the courty scene. Uhum, Ted. Oooh did I say that...!

Count me among those who will line up for a honky tonk with smart booking, embracing the range of Americana artists, bluegrass, new grass, latter-day outlaw country, the Brooklyn washtub scene, all those unshaven No Depression readers with sad sacks and six-strings, and even swamp-water hybrids like The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, which played the Lux recently. Get Jeremiah James in there, and Hank III; Joshua Tree and Reckless Kelly; Pinto Bennett and Milton Mapes. Oh yea, a downtown country rock bar will be just fine by me.

First off - that is a great name for a bar! And yes, I agree that a hip country bar will work downtown. will be fun to see what he does with it....
