Haley @ Alive after five.
August 22nd, 2007
Free Spirit and former Dawson Barrista Haley, spins through Alive After Five on her way to Nevada for the Burning Man.
She and 799 other fire dancers will perform at the “Burnâ€. The final ceremony that gives Burning Man it’s name. Would I love to have a camera for that!
As you can see the crowd was light at AA5. Wonder if the lack of local music and the Lori b!’s comments against that are having an effect?
Will have to say that what little time I have spent on Wednesdays walking to my car this summer, the music has been good.

Probably best not to drive said car to the Nevada desert boiseboy.

You should have stayed a little longer, the crowd grew after you left. The dancing crowd filled the front of the stage.

Yea, I saw you walk through around 5:30p, and the crowd got much, much larger after your stroll-by. But nice to hear you still beating the local band v. AAF dead horse. Tell you what, wander around to all the restaurants and bars that now employ local bands exclusively at the conclusion of AAF, week in and week out, and ask them how much work they were getting on Wednesday evenings in the old days. While you’re at it, explain to me how a blues festival that brings out-of-town performers to. say, Mountain Home is a good thing, but a weekly festival that brings national bands to town isn’t. Bottom line: Good bands that work for it get gigs, and they don’t whine about the gigs they don’t get.
Put me down for a calendar, by the way.

Rick-
Bless you my friend. Love the open discussion.BTW I’m betting there will be hard working local bands gigging next year at AA5.
