Taqueria no more
March 18th, 2007
The management of Bardenay/Taqueria Calle Verde, have informed their staff that they will close Calle Verde. Many of the employees will find shifts next door.
Is location haunted? Let’s see, former tenants include, The Reading Room, Saffron, PIE, Bottega something and most recently the very hip Ten.
How about a smokey Blues bar that doesn’t charge an extra 6% on debit cards next!

maybe it is time for somebody to open up a small venue named Boisee Blue. (I get free drink royalties)
nice (not too expensive), fun, blues, and NOT NEXT TO THE BARDENAY.

A nice, smokey blues bar would be great even if they DID charge an extra 6% on the bar bill!!!

Maybe this smoke filled Blues Bar/Club of the future could hire BoiseeBoy to do some DJ’ing on the nights when live music couldn’t be found.
This would get me into the night life again , maybe as a bouncer /floor walker. I need some more community service time…..

It wasn’t a matter of the space being haunted, but the whole concept of Calle Verde was skewed. Not all of us that worked there found employment with Bardenay. It’s nice to live in place where two days notice is legal. Many folks who worked there posited the smoky blues bar thing. Maybe that’ll happen someday when Boise becomes cool enough for one.
